Program Description
This is a live in-person event is for military ophthalmologist, optometrists, and staff of military refractive surgery centers. This event provides a venue for sharing educational topics among the product line. Subjects have been taken from input provided by military refractive surgery care givers and providers. Instructors are a mix of providers with more than five years of refractive surgery experience or residents providing evidence-based research and reports.
Target Audience
This activity provides continuing education for: physicians and optometrists. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.
Learning Objectives
- Explain lessons learned from conducting overseas humanitarian missions.
- Demonstrate a practical knowledge of how to set priorities when conducting overseas missions.
- Present initiatives that the Warfighter Refractive Eye Surgery Program (WRESP) have planned and/or have complete in the last year.
- Explain critical foundational knowledge for medical readiness and surgical exchange exercises in austere environments
- Describe specific challenges and successes to this mission.
- Identify projects and initiatives owned by the Refractive Surgery Board (RSB).
