Military Injury Prevention Research to Practice Education Series: Emerging Non-Invasive and Sensitive Technologies to Reduce Injury Risk During Combat Training and Operations and Self-Perceived Readiness and Performance Under Stress
This series is designed to provide military medical providers and staff with information about a variety of topics related to injury and physical performance optimization. The series is managed and developed by the Military Injury Prevention Research to Practice Working Group. Each session features presentations from scientists or clinicians at key Department of War research and public health agencies that routinely focus on injury, physical performance, or health promotion.
Target Audience
This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, physician associates/assistants, psychologists, athletic trainers, physical therapists, and physical therapist assistants. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.
Learning Objectives
- Analyze key concepts and evidence for wearable use and interpretation to explain their relevance to military training and operations.
- Apply at least two strategies (environment versus form factor) or frameworks (technology acceptance model) discussed in the presentation to real-world scenarios within the military.
- Identify the components of self-perceived readiness using the (Acute Readiness Monitoring Scale) ARMS framework.
- Explain how physical and cognitive readiness factors influence performance.
- Interpret the relationship between self-perceived readiness and perceptual-cognitive performance.
