Military Acute Concussion Evaluation 2 (MACE 2); Nov 4, Session 2
Program Description
- The goal of the traumatic brain injury (TBI) MACE 2 Provider Training is to distinguish high level changes in the Military Acute Concussion Evaluation 2 (MACE 2) including specific updates and evidence to support the changes. These changes include an expanded assessment by the addition of the Vestibular Ocular Motor Screening (VOMS), cervicogenic symptoms and enhanced balance assessment. The provider training will also show how the MACE 2 improves the current standard of care for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) management.
- The MACE 2 incorporates improved concussion assessment based upon evidence based research and best clinical practices.
- Physicians, nurses, physician assistants, physical therapists, occupational therapists, medics and other health care professionals should attend the trainings.
- These 3 hour training course will be facilitated at the local Medical Treatment Facility by the Regional Education Coordinator and their designated TBI provider.
- Didactics, case presentations and return demonstrations comprise the training.
Target Audience
This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of physicians, nurses, physician assistants, optometrists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists, and other health care professionals who support/care for U.S. active-duty service members, reservists, National Guardsmen, military veterans and their families.
