Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians and nurses. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

  1. Describe the soft skills of a quality leader.
  2. Explain the importance of teamwork for high-quality care.
  3. Identify the key components of effective teams.
  4. Outline the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP) and its utilization.
  5. Explain American College of Surgeons (ACS) NSQIP methodology and proficiently/efficiently utilize NSQIP tools, analyses, and reports.
  6. Know how to investigate concerns raised through NSQIP data.
  7. Summarize implementation strategies to leverage buy-in among local leaders.
  8. Describe how the “Red” book can be applied to leverage change at the local level.
