Target Audience
This activity provides continuing education for pharmacy technicians. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.
Learning Objectives
- Discuss low weight/high weight direct oral anticoagulant (DOAC) use.
- Describe factors dictating the restart of DOACs after procedure and/or bleeding.
- Identify opioid reduction strategies that can be implemented by clinical pharmacy.
- Explain reasons and indications for tapering opioid regimens.
- Explain standardized documentation of medications in the electronic health record system.
- Compare patient interview techniques while performing a medication reconciliation.
- Identify potential weaknesses or failures within a clinical pharmacy environment
- Discuss mitigation strategies to reduce the chance of medication or patient safety errors
- Identify cellular microbiology content and processes.
- Explain the pharmacogenomics (PGx) field.
- Apply resources to patient case examples (CPIC, PharmGKB).
- Summarize the Implementation Toolkit resources for Pharmacogenomics.

There is no cost to participate in this activity.
