Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for pharmacists. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe basic physical assessment skills performed by clinical pharmacists for the adult patient.
  2.  Identify normal and abnormal ranges of the four main vital signs.
  3. Discuss technique for accurately measuring blood pressure for the adult patient.
  4. Outline how to perform a comprehensive diabetes foot examination and identify when referral is needed.
  5. Describe basic physical assessment skills performed by clinical pharmacists for the adult patient.
  6. Identify normal and abnormal ranges of the four main vital signs.
  7. Discuss technique for accurately measuring blood pressure for the adult patient.
  8. Outline how to perform a comprehensive diabetes foot examination and identify when referral is needed.
  9. Describe differences in diabetes treatment guidelines.
  10. Explain the impact of lifestyle modifications. .
  11. Summarize medication options for treatment of Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).
