ForwardMEDCoE: Traumatic Event Management
MEDCoE's (U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence) Traumatic Event Management Facilitator course is designed to train TEM facilitators, primarily targeting mental health providers and unit ministry teams, on providing traumatic event management to units exposed to potentially traumatic events (i.e., death of a unit member, witness to civilian mass casualty, etc.). The course covers supporting individuals, supporting groups, making referrals, applying prevention measures, and conducting needs assessments after a potentially traumatic event. This course allows ample opportunities for students to practice the new skills learned during the course.
Target Audience
This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, physician associates/physician assistants, social workers, psychologists, occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, and certified counselors. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.
