Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for pharmacists. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe difference in diabetes treatment guidelines.
  2. Describe clinical pharmacy documentation of care for complex patient cases.
  3. Identify diagnostic codes, evaluation and management (E&M) codes, and procedural codes that are most appropriate for clinical pharmacy documentation of care for specific disease states, types of appointments or services.
  4. Describe basic physical assessment skills performed by clinical pharmacists for the adult patient.
  5. Explain reasons and indications for tapering opioid regimens.
  6. Identify opioid reduction strategies that can be implemented by clinical pharmacy.
  7. Describe the role of the clinical pharmacist in both preconception and contraception care.
