Management of Headache Following Concussion

Program Description

This is an asynchronous on-line course to present military health system providers with guidance in evaluating and managing post-traumatic headaches. It was developed by conducting evidence-based reviews, analyzing the applicability of current clinical practice guidelines and soliciting the input of a multidisciplinary panel of experts.

Target Audience

This CE activity is provided by the DHA J-7 Continuing Education Program Office (CEPO). This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, and physician assistants. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe and distinguish the common types of post-traumatic headache (PTH). 
  2. Apply the clinical recommendation to assess, identify and test each post traumatic headache type, understanding the non-pharmacological and pharmacological treatments available. 
  3. Use treatment guidelines for PTH in deployed and non-deployed settings.
