This insightful educational opportunity consists of two presentations and reviews how to apply evidence-based practice at an individual and system level before diving into key components of assessing, managing, and educating pediatric patients about asthma symptoms and management.
These presentations are part of the LTC Juanita Warman Quarterly Nursing Grand Rounds. The event began as a Unit Practice Council initiative and was initially held as an annual conference before transitioning to quarterly grand rounds to better meet the organization’s needs. The planning committee for the grand rounds seeks to bring speakers with various areas of expertise to help provide a diverse educational experience.
How to Access LTC Warman Nursing Grand Rounds Courses:
- Open Microsoft Teams and click the Chat icon on the left.
- Click the three dots ··· next to where it says “Teams and channels” at the bottom left of the page (under the list of chats).
- Select “Your teams and channels” in the dropdown.
- Click the arrow ⌵ next to “Create team” in the top right corner, then select “Join Team” in the dropdown.
- Under the “Join a team with a code” option, enter the code wsn20h7
- Once you have joined the team, you will have access to the videos and files under the “Shared” tab at the top of the page. Please note that the folders are organized by event date.

Target Audience
This activity provides continuing education for nurses across the Military Health System. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

- Analyze asthma assessment and management guidelines.
- Apply the guidelines to a pediatric case.
