LPN IVP Medication Administration

March 13, 2024

Program Description

Winn Army Community Hospital is increasing the facility's scope of practice for LPNs to include intravenous push medications. To ensure safe practice, hospital education will provide a 6 hour training course for all LPNs prior to live implementation. The course will include safe medication administration, a pharmacy review of medications that will be administered, aseptic technique and intravenous complications. There will be case studies and practical scenarios throughout, and training will conclude with a hands on demonstration and simulation. This training will occur quarterly to capture new LPNs in the facility and ensure all LPNs have an opportunity to attend. The dates are to be determined.
