The course explores Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) symptoms, difficulties, diagnosis, and treatment in children and adults.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, social workers, and psychologists across the Military Health System (MHS). A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Summarize the history of Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), causes, symptoms, treatment and managing the diagnosis.
  2. Identify how ADHD presents differently in children and adults and gender differences.
  3. Properly evaluate and diagnose ADHD.
  4. Explain the importance of psychopharmacology in the management of ADHD.
  5. Explain the importance of sports and physical activity in managing symptoms.
