Program Description

The Lifestyle & Performance Medicine Lecture Series is intended for all health care professionals and healthcare leaders to learn more about the approach to patient care known as Lifestyle Medicine. The lecture will review popular eating styles and their effect on health. 

Target Audience

This CE/CME activity is accredited by the DHA, J-7, Continuing Education Program Office (CEPO). This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, optometrists, social workers, psychologists, dentists, dental hygienists, dental technicians, registered dieticians, dietetic technicians, occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistant, certified counselors, kinesiotherapists, and healthcare executives. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe the major differences between the most popular eating styles.
  2. Identify at least one risk and benefit of each major eating pattern.
  3. Generate an opinion as to the healthiest long-term eating pattern.
  4. Generate an opinion as to which dietary patterns may have long-term safety risks.
  5. Identify the most effective dietary pattern for various medical conditions.
