Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for: physicians, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, dentists, dental hygienists, dental technicians, and healthcare executives across the Military Health System (MHS). A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe DHA’s mission, vision and priorities.
  2. Model behaviors and apply strategies that foster a culture of respect for people and duty to speak up for staff, patients, and families.
  3. Recall Defense Medical Human Resources System-internet (DMHRSi) concepts and how it impacts the Military Treatment Facility (MTF).
  4. Examine five conflict behaviors.
  5. Recall analytics and evolution’s role in data-driven decision making.
  6. Describe legal considerations that impact the daily operations of a Network or MTF in accordance with applicable federal health laws and Department of War (DoW) policies.
  7. Describe strategic communications concepts involving media engagement.
  8. Describe where and how DHA Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) drives strategy.
  9. Describe how each of the Common Elements of change impacts the outcome of your change efforts.
  10. Identify the Mission Statement and the Responsibilities of Deputy Assistant Director – Financial Operations (DAD-FO/J8).
  11. Describe how the Military Health System’s (MHS) new electronic health record, MHS GENESIS, standardizes clinical and business processes across the services and the MHS enterprise.
  12. Identify key measures of Access to Care performance and relate the measure to MTF operations.
  13. Explore the “what” and “why” of change management using 5 tenets.
  14. Describe coaching in the workplace and its benefits.
