Home Study - Special Feature Webinar: Finding the Right FIT: Charting the Future of Colorectal Cancer Screening in the Military Health System

Program Description

Colorectal cancer is one of the most common malignancies in the United States.  Screening through multiple timely, high-quality is available and has been a key component towards sustained reductions in disease burden, though we still leave millions of patients unscreened across the country.  Due to the recent proposed reduction in screening age in response to increased rates of CRC incidence in younger adults, continued inequities in screening utilization among certain racial and socioeconomic groups, as well as screening delays due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, screening in the future is likely to change from what has been in recent decades.  This shift will require a unified effort among primary care and subspecialty providers, nursing staff, lab technicians, and informatics specialists in order to meet the demands of future screening requirements for our beneficiaries, including active duty personnel. Through education, this webinar will begin the process of developing highly reliable systems with the goal of optimizing the next generation of CRC screening within the MHS.
