HCE Vestibular Research Dissemination Platform: Review of Optokinetic Stimulation in Vestibular Rehabilitation

Program Description: 

This online virtual discussion is appropriate for clinicians who evaluate and treat individuals with complaints of dizziness. The presenters will review discuss criteria for including optokinetric rehabilitation into treatment plans for individuals with vertigo. The primary target audience for this monthly discussion/lecture series includes physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, audiologists, and physicians treating military beneficiaries and Veterans in Defense Health Agency and Department of Veterans Affairs healthcare facilities.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, audiologists, physical therapists, and physical therapist assistants. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe the rationale for adding optokinetic rehabilitation into the treatment plan for individuals with visual vertigo
  2. Describe three factors that can be individualized when developing an optokinetic program
  3. Summarize how to progress the level of complexity of a given optokinetic rehabilitation program
