Program Description

This training is intended for clinicians and students in the behavioral health field looking to better understand and implement Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as an additional transdiagnostic psychotherapy to improve the functioning and decrease the suffering of military mental health patients. This will be accomplished in a 2-day, in-person training at Andrews AFB with didactical and experiential components.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, social workers, and psychologists. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Create a treatment plan for patients using the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Matrix tool.
  2. Understand roots in workability (functional contextualism) vs. rationalism.

Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 3.00 continuing education credits.
