Family Advocacy Staff Training
This in-person course provides a basic orientation for newly assigned personnel working directly and indirectly in Family Advocacy in order develop the installation of the Family Advocacy Program (FAP). This includes the management and efficient use of all available resources in preventing, identifying, investigating, and treating the victims and offenders of child maltreatment and intimate partner abuse.
Target Audience
This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, social workers, psychologists, and certified counselors. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.
Learning Objectives
- Demonstrate Collaboration: Foster partnerships between different branches and agencies to create a unified approach in assisting with families dealing with domestic violence.
- Apply Awareness: Education, training, and collaboration on best practices along with current research and developmental innovations in the domestic violence field.
- Describe Best Practices: Highlight successful prevention methods and interventions in domestic violence, encouraging the adoption of evidence-based practices across disciplines.
- Utilize Innovative Technologies: Discuss the use innovative technology is being used in domestic violence situations and can be used for safety.
- Analyze Research and Development: Encourage collaboration on research initiatives that address behavioral health and domestic violence issues specific to military personnel.
