Program Description

This webinar will discuss nutritional needs for the polytrauma patient: from injury to recovery. Metabolic changes due to burns and traumas will be covered in the discussion of inpatient through outpatient and recovery care. Safe supplements will be addressed.

Learning Objectives

  1. Compare and contrast the changes in metabolic response to burns & traumas.
  2. Explain inpatient nutrition care and recovery to burn and trauma patients convey the importance of recovery nutrition in the outpatient setting.
  3. Address the challenges to getting optimal nutrition with amputee and burn patients
  4. Integrate the use of safe supplements with nutrition in the outpatient setting.
