DHA Pediatric Child Sexual Abuse Adjunct Training: Review of Sexual Abuse Policies and Management in the Military
Program Description
The general purpose of the adjunct training is to provide supplemental required training to Military Training Facilities (MTF) healthcare providers seeking to provide or providing child sexual abuse care in the MTF.
Target Audience
This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, and physician assistants. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.
Learning Objectives
- Discuss the military culture as it relates to child sexual abuse, who to report the case to.
- Describe how to assess the cases within the military medical system and provide forensic healthcare utilizing the appropriate documentation tools.
- Determine who to consult and refer to for care, and identify the components of the Forensic Healthcare Examination as well as any follow-up care that might be required.
