Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, physician assistants, social workers and psychologists. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Explain the best place for Forensic Health Care follow up.
  2. Identify timeframes for standardized follow up medical care.
  3. Discuss the preferred provider(s) for providing follow up care to patients with a disclosure of abuse.
  4. Explain three reasons for follow-up medical care.
  5. Differentiate protocol testing & referrals based on nature of assault/abuse.
  6. Compare “Test of Cure” versus “Re-testing” for sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
