Department of Behavioral Health Winn Army: Utilization of Personality Trait Dimensional Models to Improve Differentiation of Borderline Personality Disorder and Bipolar Disorder
Program Description
This live, in-person course will address the importance of understanding personality theory and personality trait dimensional models for conceptualization of personality disorders and can be useful in differentiating Borderline Personality Disorder and Bipolar Disorder. This course will discuss personality trait dimensional models, including the Five-Factor Model and the DSM-5 Alternative Model of Personality Disorders; discuss differences in borderline personality disorder and bipolar disorder; and review military implications.
Target Audience
This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, social workers, psychologists, certified counselors. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

- Describe the primary areas of disfunction associated with borderline personality disorder (BPD)
- Compare affective instability in BPD and bipolar disorder (BD)
