This session will address how to recognize common operational stress reactions, differentiate them from diagnosable mental health conditions, and apply core combat/operational stress control principles.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, social workers, and psychologists across the Military Health System (MHS). A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify common signs of operational stress reactions across operational environments and appraise differences between diagnosable mental health conditions.
  2. Explain principles of combat operational stress control and practical strategies to sustain performance before, during, and after high operational demands.
  3. Apply knowledge of operational stress interventions that can mitigate the effects of heightened operational stress to case vignettes.
