Clinical Emergency Management (Short)
Program Description
The Immunization Lifelong Learners course is a two-day course designed to ensure healthcare personnel are trained in vaccine policy, vaccine safety, and effectiveness on the Joint Regulation on Immunizations and Chemoprophylaxis for the Prevention of Infectious Diseases, Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) guidelines and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendation for immunization practice. The course is recommended for healthcare personnel working with within military treatment facilities (MTF) or affiliated field settings.
Target Audience
This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.
Learning Objectives
- Understand how to prevent emergencies.
- Recognize anaphylaxis and other medical emergencies that may occur.
- Outline treatment for anaphylaxis.
- Explain the need for a written emergency plan.
- Review the steps to develop a comprehensive emergency management plan.
- Identify minimum staff education, training and equipment requirements relating to emergency management.
