Clinical Applications of Battlefield Acupuncture

Program Description

This activity is a didactic and hands-on practice of battlefield acupuncture (BFA) techniques for providers, nurses, and medics in the Medical Department Activity Bavaria (MEDDACB). The practice of BFA has non-pharmacologic benefits for a variety ailments.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses and physician assistants. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify patients that may benefit from battlefield acupuncture.
  2. Explain contraindications for and potential side effects of battlefield acupuncture.
  3. Demonstrate battlefield acupuncture techniques and correct placement.
