Clinical Applications of Battlefield Acupuncture
Program Description
This activity is a didactic and hands-on practice of battlefield acupuncture (BFA) techniques for providers, nurses, and medics in the Medical Department Activity Bavaria (MEDDACB). The practice of BFA has non-pharmacologic benefits for a variety ailments.
Target Audience
This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses and physician assistants. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.
Learning Objectives
- Identify patients that may benefit from battlefield acupuncture.
- Explain contraindications for and potential side effects of battlefield acupuncture.
- Demonstrate battlefield acupuncture techniques and correct placement.
