Program Description

The Defense Centers for Public Health – Portsmouth (DCPH-P) and the Health Promotion and Wellness (HPW) Department would like to present the fourth edition of the Reproductive and Sexual Health Webinar Series. Topic: CDC STI Clinical Treatment Guidelines Update: Managing Sexually Transmitted Infections. This webinar will provide information and knowledge to preventive medical officers, IDCs, PMTs, PMOs, NPs/PAs, IDCs, Corpsmen, pharmacists, nurses, health promotion managers/coordinators, team leads, case managers and sexual health specialty clinics geared toward the implementation, integration and/or enhancement of STI treatments and preventive services. The webinar is scheduled for April 18th from 12:00 to 2:00 pm EST.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Compare and contrast the updated CDC STI clinical treatment guidelines for Doxy Post-Exposure Prophylaxis with previous recommendations.
  2. Apply syndromic management principles for the diagnosis and treatment of Gonorrhea and Chlamydia in clinical practice scenarios.
  3. Evaluate the challenges and benefits of Expedited Partner Therapy for the management of STIs.
