Case Studies in Drug Safety: Session 1

Program Description

This activity is a part of the Womack Army Medical Center Pharmacy Monthly Trainings. This iteration will review current case studies in drug safety.

Target Audience

This CE/CME activity is accredited by the DHA, J-7, Continuing Education Program Office (CEPO). This activity provides continuing education for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify patients at risk for DDIs.
  2. Analyze a patient medication list to identify DDIs.
  3. Describe the benefits of pharmacogenomics as it relates to medication selections.
  4. Apply different methods to decrease patient adverse events due to DDIs.
  5. Assess current literature on the current rate of ADRs and DDIs.
  6. Evaluate current literature on ways to reduce ADRs and DDIs.
  7. Recognize and propose solutions for override fatigue.
