Burn Nutrition

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physician associates/physician assistants, registered dieticians, dietetic technicians, occupational therapists, and occupational therapy assistants across the Military Health System (MHS). A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Discuss the metabolic response to thermal injury/trauma.
  2. Review the components of nutrition assessment.
  3. Examine the body systems with regard to nutrition.
  4. Identify medications used to promote anabolism and other medications that relate to nutrition.
  5. Monitor and evaluate the response to nutrition Rx.
