Brief Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Acute Pain and Chronic Pain

Program Description

This workshop aims to train Internal Behavioral Health Consultants (IBHCs) on comprehensive, evidence-based strategies for helping patients manage chronic and acute pain. After the initial webinar, follow up consultation calls will address specific topics and provide opportunities for case discussions.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for psychologists and social workers. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Administer the Defense and Veterans Pain Rating Scale (DVPRS) and use it to inform measurement- based care for chronic pain.
  2. Implement Brief Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Chronic Pain (Brief CBT-CP) in primary care.
  3. Use strategies to address common complexities in patients with chronic pain.
  4. Understand the course and prognosis of acute pain.
  5. Implement Brief Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Acute Pain (Brief CBT-AP) in primary care.
