Target Audience

Learning Objectives
- Distinguish the signs and symptoms of lumbar radiculopathy from pathologies that may have a similar presentation.
- Describe other possible conditions that enables the physician to consider a breadth of alternative diagnoses when a patient presents with radiating lower extremity pain.
- Summarize nonoperative and operative treatment regimens and the role they play in altering the natural history of the disease.
- Devise how the Family Practice Physician Assistant (PA) can best incorporate this information to develop and improve current clinical practice.
