Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses and physician assistants. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe best treatment protocols for the younger, athletic patient with advanced arthritis with a variety of treatment options ranging from non-surgical to arthroplasty to maintain an active, healthy lifestyle.
  2. Discuss how the Physician Assistant in the family practice setting can best incorporate this information to develop and improve current clinical practice.
  3. Outline appropriate nonsurgical modalities based on patient selection, patient education and adequate long-term follow-up.
