Andrews Advanced Education in General Dentistry-1 CE Presentation Day, JULY 2025
Program Description:
The Andrews Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Residents will be presenting 8 evidence-based, peer-reviewed presentations on current topics in dentistry to various dentists of the National Capital Region at the Andrews Smart Center in an effort to not only fill a training requirement but to also provide top-notch in-person quality continuing education hours to interested parties.
Target Audience
This activity provides continuing education for dentists, dental hygienists, and dental technicians. A certificate of attendance is available to other attendees.
Learning Objectives
- Discuss the etiology of how cracks occur in teeth.
- Classify the different types of cracked teeth.
- Explain the healing mechanism at the pulp-dentin interface after pulp exposure.
- Discuss the difference in pulp capping materials.
- Identify the discrepancy between self-reported and true allergy population.
- Describe the prognostic impact of amoxicillin allergies both within the dental field and beyond.
- Describe the fundamental changes that occur during root development.
- Explore the mechanisms by which cell signaling properties can bring forth maturation.
- Describe orthognathic surgery's role in orthodontics.
- Evaluate the impact of orthodontic and surgical interventions on esthetics.
- Examine the bi-directional relationship between periodontics and orthodontics.
- Assess periodontal considerations at different stages of orthodontic treatment.
- Describe the different components of a computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) workflow.
- Analyze the accuracy of digital scanning compared to conventional workflows.
- Identify the causes for nerve trauma.
- Discuss treatment options for nerve trauma.
