Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center Applied Research Training Day
This activity explores medical research in the Military Health System. Topics include obtaining informed consent, designing research protocol, research resources and funding, basics of statistical analysis, and discussion activity of current research and lessons learned. Posters detailing recent research projects will also be available for viewing before, during breaks, and after scheduled talks.
Target Audience
This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, physician associates/physician assistants, social workers, dentists, dental hygienists, dental technicians, registered dieticians, dietetic technicians, physical therapists, physical therapist assistants. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

- Discuss the principles, methodologies, and ethical considerations in healthcare research.
- Enumerate resources available within the Military Health System including funding, biostatistics, DHA Component Office of Human Research Protections, DHA Clinical Investigations Program Office.
- Explain their role in furthering medical research through collaboration across disciplines and organizations.

Requirements: CE/CME certificates are awarded to MHS participants who fully complete the activity, successfully submit the evaluation survey, and pass the posttest with a minimum score of 80%. The deadline to claim credit is Jun 4, 2026.
