Air Force (AF) Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Medical Director Course
Program Description:
This virtual course is designed to provide Air Force (AF) Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Medical Directors with the awareness, competency, and skills necessary to perform the duties of an AF EMS Medical Director.
Target Audience
This activity provides continuing education for physicians. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.
Learning Objectives
- Compare and contrast the roles and responsibilities of the AF Surgeon General, AF State Office of EMS (AFSOEMS), AF EMS Consultant to the Surgeon General, AFSOEMS Medical Director, AFSOEMS Director to EMS operations, AF EMS Program Manager, NREMT Agency Site Coordinator, MAJCOM Surgeon General, the Military Treatment Facility Commander, Chief of Medical Staff (SGH), and installation EMS Medical Director as they pertain to AF EMS operations.
- Comprehend the supervisory structure including rank-based responsibilities
- Describe the responsibilities of the USAF EMS Medical Director.
- Summarize the differences between training, certification, licensure, and credentialing.
- Utilize protocol knowledge verification programs.
- Analyze various situations that are presented to AF EMS medical directors and plan an appropriate course of action.
