Program Description

This monthly series will consist of a provider from the Mental Health (MH) field presenting an interesting case that will illustrate an important clinical lesson or pearls of wisdom. Participants will be able to identify common knowledge gaps in Air Force (AF) policy for MH readiness and illustrate patient presentations which will require interpretation of Air Force and Department of Defense (DoD) policies and guidance on readiness.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, social workers, psychologists and certified counselors. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees. 

Learning Objectives

  1. Explain the underpinnings of Competency to Stand Trial evaluations
  2. Explain the underpinnings of Sanity evaluations
  3. Summarize the purpose of a Sanity Board and its components
  4. Describe how a Sanity Board evaluation differs from a clinical evaluation for treatment
  5. Identify who can complete a Sanity Board and the available resources
