Program Description

This monthly series will consist of a provider from the Mental Health (MH) field presenting an interesting case that will illustrate an important clinical lesson or pearls of wisdom. Participants will be able to identify common knowledge gaps in Air Force (AF) policy for MH readiness and illustrate patient presentations which will require interpretation of Air Force and Department of Defense (DoD) policies and guidance on readiness.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, social workers, psychologists and certified counselors. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify five principles of the life course model and their application to mental health treatment.
  2. Summarize how the life course model relates to human development, historical events, and biographical information in mental health clinical care.
  3. Verbalize at least three methods to apply the life course model to assessment and treatment of patients within the clinic.
