6th Federal Advanced Amputation Skills Training (FAAST) 29-JUN-2021
Program Description
The Extremity Trauma and Amputation Center of Excellence (EACE) is excited to host the 6th Federal Advanced Amputation Skills Training (FAAST) from June 29-July 1, 2021. The FAAST brings clinicians together from across the country to train in best practices in amputation care. Due to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, this year’s FAAST will be held in a synchronous virtual format. FAAST 2021 will focus on amputation care related outcome measure importance, integration and standardization in clinical practice. FAAST 2021 will feature sessions on patient-reported and performance-based outcomes selected by DOD clinicians. Presentations will detail why clinicians need to be engaged, what the tools are (and the science behind them), and how they are implemented. The goal of this year’s training is standardization of understanding, implementation and interpretation to allow use of this data in clinical decision making, performance improvement and programmatic evaluation. Clinician trainers will conduct the FY21 training utilizing a variety of methods of instruction to include lecture, video, demonstration and application. Interactive questions will be dispersed throughout the presentation for learning checks and engagement.
