Program Description
One-day conference where Doctors of Neurosurgery, Organ Transplant and Transplant Pharmacist will present on their specific patient population in order to educate nurses, nursing assistants, corpsman and medics on standards of care and their expectations to include anatomy, physiology and pharmacology.

Learning Objectives
- Identify potential complications in post-op Cervical Spine surgery patients.
- Identify potential complications in post-op Thoracolumbar Spine surgery patients.
- Explain how anatomy and physiology of neurosurgery patients affects plan of care along with neurosurgery's expectations for nursing staff.
- Differentiate between common transplant medications including indication and timing for each medication.
- Outline labs for post-operative transplant patients, why they are necessary and why the timing is important.
- Summarize the expected post-operative course for Kidney transplant patients in order to formulate applicable care plans.
- Describe potential complications in post-operative transplant patients.
- Select appropriate plan of care based on anatomy and physiology of organ transplant patients.
- Discuss the common neurological disorders admitted to 4 West.
- Demonstrate the basics of care for stroke patients and understand labs, imaging, order sets, typical hospital course.
- Summarize the basics of VEEG/EMU patients and seizure bundle.
- Utilize IVIG guidelines.
- Explain Leadership Morality.
- Know Chaplain Accessibility and apply the different resources available to patients/nursing staff.
