Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians across the Military Health System (MHS). A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Discuss how to code for face-to-face and non-face-to-face time when documenting patient care activities.
  2. Explain the importance of medical record documentation.
  3. Contrast the difference between new and established patients as it relates to selecting the appropriate current procedural terminology (CPT) code.
  4. Identify diagnostic codes, evaluation and management (E&M) codes, and procedural codes that are most appropriate for clinical pharmacy documentation of care for medication therapy management (MTM) and Prolonged Services (PS).
