Target Audience
This activity provides continuing education for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians across the Military Health System (MHS). A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

- Describe antibiotic prescribing trends in the United States.
- Describe the consequences of antimicrobial misuse.
- List the core elements of antimicrobial stewardship programs (ASPs).
- Develop antimicrobial stewardship goals.
- Explain the core strategies of inpatient antimicrobial stewardship.
- Describe common antimicrobial stewardship interventions.
- Describe and evaluate antimicrobial stewardship metrics.
- Summarize the importance of regular reporting to leadership and educating prescribers and patients.
- Outline where to access antimicrobial stewardship resources.
