2025 Optimizing CORE MTFs Training – Enhancing Readiness and Care

This training event focuses on the ability to bolster readiness of the force, as well as attract and retain more clinically complex care. Invitees include all DHN leaders and Military Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) leaders from the MTFs that comprise our readiness “core”, along with select supporting MTFs. Our overarching objectives for this training event are to (a) clearly define the roles, responsibilities and expectations of the identified MTFs, and (b) ensure we have alignment on policies, resources, training, and clinical & business processes to achieve the goals we set for each MTF that is part of this readiness “core”.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, physician associates/physician assistants, dentists, dental hygienists, dental technicians, and healthcare executives. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Explain the expectations set for the CORE Military Medical Treatment Facilities (MTFs) and illustrate how they align with broader DHA goals.
  2. Interpret the Reconciliation Funding and investment strategies in MTFs to demonstrate their impact on Access to Care and Readiness..
  3. Demonstrate how to apply best practices in specialty care access, template management, and appointing to enhance Prime capacity.
  4. Describe the universal privileging process and analyze its implications for Clinical Quality Management.
  5. Summarize how to maintain solvency in IRIS, explain incentive structures, and evaluate data quality related to performance and personnel availability.
  6. Recognize current capabilities and challenges within MHS GENESIS and Revenue Cycle, and discuss potential future enhancements.
  7. Identify and explain strategies to leverage DHA capabilities in support of CORE goals to “keep care in and bring care in.”
  8. Interpret the Human Capital Distribution Plan, DM2 model, and MTF Unit Manning Document to illustrate their role in workforce planning.
  9. Explain the importance of MTF maintenance and equipment in sustaining operational readiness.
  10. Describe the current TRICARE T-5 contract and summarize its key provisions.
  11. Outline the DoD VA Strategic Objectives and identify opportunities for interagency collaboration.
  12. Summarize effective communication and public affairs strategies across DHA, Networks, and MTFs to enhance stakeholder engagement.
