Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, and physician assistants. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify the benefits of the traditional embedded military civilian partnership (MCP) model.
  2. Summarize how the low operational tempo during the inter-war period affects training and outcomes.
  3. Describe the high-importance skills for Critical Care Air Transport Team (CCATT) physicians, nurses, respiratory care practitioners, and the full team.
  4. Review strategies for teaching tourniquet conversion.
  5. Examine perioperative considerations relating to damage control surgery in austere environments.
  6. Explain incorrect intestinal rotation results in a spectrum of aberrant anatomy.
  7. Discuss ongoing knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA) benchmarking efforts at the Centers for Sustainment of Trauma and Readiness Skills (C-STARS) Cincinnati.
  8. Differentiate between the 3 most common Metabolic Bariatric Surgery (MBS) procedures performed globally.
  9. Understand peri-operative glucose management for optimizing patient outcomes.
  10. Identify critical decision points warranted to delay surgery.
