2023 Virtual Women’s Health Seminar
Program Description
Care of the female sailor requires education on specific women’s health issues. The Women’s Health Seminar is a 2 day, live, Navy-specific virtual women’s health training program. It is specifically designed for operational clinicians including General Medical Officers, Flight Surgeons, Undersea Medical Officers, Operational Medical Officers, and Independent Duty Corpsmen. This seminar will focus on basic, deckplate-level women’s health concerns and specifically address medical readiness topics. These topics include preventative healthcare for service women, understanding common women’s health concerns, women’s health considerations prior to and during deployment, mental healthcare, transgender healthcare, and ongoing efforts led by the Office of Women’s Health and the Female Force Readiness Clinical Community. At the end of this seminar, participants will have completed 8 hours of high-quality, comprehensive, female-focused medical care. There will be an emphasis on Navy Medicine and Defense Health Agency policies regarding healthcare and resources for servicemember assistance when needed.
