2022 DHA Symposium, Hunting the Next Pandemic: Becoming a Super Sleuth, 24 MAY 2022
This activity will provide an introduction to the Electronic Surveillance System for the Early Notification for Community‐based Epidemics (ESSENCE) and to enable engagement of the broader public health workforce on syndromic surveillance efforts in the Defense Health Agency (DHA).
This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, dentists, psychologists, and healthcare executives. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.
- Discuss Early Notification for Community‐based Epidemics (ESSENCE) uses and limitations.
- Describe situations/scenarios where ESSENCE was able to identify threats in real‐time.
- Demonstrate real‐world usage of ESSENCE as a bio-surveillance tool.
- Utilize and promote access to ESSENCE at any level of public health knowledge.
