Program Description

This activity will discuss the financial statement audit which will include an explanation of audit documentation requested by the auditors, Notice of Findings and Recommendations, and how to write and implement corrective action plans to remediate audit deficiencies. The Risk Management Internal Control (RMIC) portion will include a discussion of how well designed and implemented internal controls can improve reporting, operations, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, dentists, psychologists, and healthcare executives.  A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

  1. Discuss Financial Statement basics, benefits, and expectations
  2. Explain the U.S. Secretary of Defense (SecDef) Audit Priorities.
  3. Know and understand the components of the DHP Audit
  4. Recognize DHA & Direct Care Financial Management (DCFM) Audit Response plans, phases, and tracking mechanisms
  5. Define the Risk Management Internal Control (RMIC) Program, why it’s important, and the reporting structure.
