Marc Patience, Ph.D. Counseling Psychology; Maj USAF - BSC
Maj Patience is currently a Clinical Health Psychology Fellow at Lackland Air Force Base. Maj Patience received his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Texas A&M University in 2015, and completed his Clinical Psychology Residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland AFB, TX the same year.
After residency Maj Patience was assigned to the 2nd Medical Operations Squadron at Barksdale AFB in Shreveport, Louisiana as a Staff Psychologist. During his tenure at Barksdale, he served as the Mental Health Officer in Charge, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Treatment Program Manager, Disaster Mental Health Team Chief, Behavioral Health Consultant in Barksdale’s Family Medicine Clinic, and served as the substance abuse and mental health subject matter expert for the Barksdale Community Action Team. Maj Patience graduated Squadron Officer School in residence as a distinguished graduate, and was awarded the Commandant’s Leadership Award.
Maj Patience’s clinical and research interests include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, behavioral sleep medicine, population health, primary prevention, and weight management.
