Dr. Tom J Sauerwein is a board certified endocrinologist, Fellow in the American College of Endocrinology, and a clinical professor of medicine at the Uniformed Service University. He is a former endocrinology fellowship program director and consultant to the Air Force Surgeon General on endocrinology. He retired from the US Air Force in 2011. He then served as the director for the Diabetes Center of Excellence between 2012-2019 and continues to serve the DCOE and its patients as a volunteer.
