ForwardAir Force EMS Medical Director’s Course
This is a two-part virtual course designed for AF EMS Medical Directors to increase awareness, competency, and skills necessary to perform the duties of the AF EMS Medical Director. It is to be taken upon initial appointment and biannually afterward. The enduring content is required prior to taking the virtual live session.
Virtual sessions are available on four different dates via Microsoft Teams.
- 17 September 2026, 0800 - 1200 CT
- 15 April 2027, 1700 - 2100 CT
- 16 September 2027, 0800 - 1200 CT
- 13 April 2028, 1700 - 2100 CT
Live portion is by invitation only after sign-up via KX.
Target Audience
This activity provides continuing education for physicians across the Military Health System (MHS). A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.
Learning Objectives
- Describe and discuss role and responsibilities of the installation medical director in Air Force EMS.
- Familiarize USAF EMS Medical Directors with USAF guidance/policy and role of AF State Office of EMS.
- Describe the initial training, clinical practice, and credentialing of medics in the USAF.
- Facilitate networking between USAF EMS installation medical directors and leadership.
Course summary
Requirements: CE/CME certificates are awarded to MHS participants who fully complete the activity, successfully submit the evaluation survey, and pass the posttest with a minimum score of 80% unless noted otherwise. The deadline to claim credit is Sep 30, 2028.
