Day 3 – CPG: Patient-Centered Recommendations

This course empowers healthcare professionals to design truly patient-centered clinical guidelines by integrating the patient voice directly into the decision-making process. Participants will first identify effective methods for eliciting patient values and preferences from diverse populations. Armed with this feedback, learners will learn to appropriately incorporate patient values and preferences into guideline recommendations. Finally, participants will practice modifying draft recommendations to reflect these critical patient-centered considerations, ensuring that final guidelines are both clinically robust and respectful of patient needs.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, physician associates/physician assistants, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, dentists, dental hygienists, dental technicians, audiologists, speech language pathologists, physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, psychologists, optometrists, social workers, registered dieticians, dietetic technicians, certified counselors, kinesiotherapists, allied health professionals, and clinical leaders and subject matter experts across the Military Health System (MHS). A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.
