Nutrition for US Army Special Operations Forces

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physician associates/physician assistants, registered dieticians, dietetic technicians, occupational therapists, and occupational therapy assistants across the Military Health System (MHS). A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Understand the unique nutrition and energy demands of U.S. Army Special Operations Forces (SOF) across assessment, selection, and austere operational environments.
  2. Implement evidence-based nutrition strategies to optimize tactical performance, support recovery, and mitigate injury risk.
  3. Recognize and address unique physiological, environmental, and health concerns unique to SOF (e.g., gut health, brain health, and lead exposure mitigation).
